Trash Cans

Trash Cans

Leave no trace is a huge motto for the outdoor world. You should never leave anything behind other than footprints and even that is questionable. A great way to make sure you aren't leaving a bunch of garbage behind is to have a trash can while camping.

Stacked Wooden Logs

There are a bunch of different types of trash cans. Most are collapsible. They come in cylinders and cubes of different sizes. I have a small one I keep in my car due to a daughter that has a history of motion sickness. This doubles well for a small trash can while camping. The bigger ones are nice for meals and larger trash, but depending on where you go you may have to empty it every night or make sure it is hung in a tree to keep away from animals.

Romantic Walk in Sunset

In the end if you don't want to spend the extra money on a trash can you can always just bring trash bags. This is our typical plan. We can tie them to the grill or a tree. We can move them around the campsite with no problem. It isn't quite as pretty, but it gets the job done.
